Order of children's births from the will, then altered to the 1850 census.
There was an Alexander in the 1830 and 1850 census in Parke Co., Indiana. See
the 1830 enumeration in the census file. This enumeration shows 1 male and 1
female child, both under 5, apparently born prior to 1830. He is listed as
between 20-30. There is also a male between 60-70 living with him. This could
have been Larkin, his father or perhaps his father-in-law. Two children were
not mentioned in the census -Thomas and Jane that were in the will.

This may be the child of Larkin Lane mentioned in the Rev. service record S.
16442. If this is the case. It may be the male 60-70 who is living with him in
1830. More research required to determine this premise. Larkin would have been
68 years of age. But the mother Sarah Price is not enumerated. She died 1837.

BIOGRAPHY:Weik's History of Putnam Co., IN. says that he was born near
Lexington, KY in what is known as the Apple Orchard District. They came to
Parke County in 1826. He was the only other white man in the county besides
his wife's brother. They settled in Union Township.
